A memorandum of understanding (MoU) on mining and processing rare earth in northern Lai Chau province’s Tam Duong district was signed with Japan on May 18.

The Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group (Vinatex) said on May 10 that it will team up with Itochu Corporation of Japan to build a modern fibre plant in the northern province of Nam Dinh.

The central province of Quang Ngai has granted a licence to Foster Electric (Da Nang) Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of Japanese-based Foster Group, to build a factory to manufacture electronic components.

Shipments of Vietnamese prawns and shrimps continue to head for the Japanese market after the ban in using antibiotic Enrofloxacin in raising them has been strictly enforced since March 1.

The Japanese enterprises, Hibiya Engineering and Veglia Laboratories, will join the energy saving market in Vietnam.
